About Claire

I am a professional violinist and teacher and have taught violin in a variety of settings in both Boston and New York City for over 20 years. I am very comfortable teaching violin remotely in an online setting. Join me for online lessons for a creative and fun approach to learning to play the violin.

I am also a diverse performer, playing solo, orchestral and chamber repertoire in New York City and abroad. I am the fiddle player for Ritchie Blackmore in his band, 'Blackmore's Night.' I have also appeared with various artists like P. Diddy and Father John Misty on SNL, Letterman, The View and other television programs. I have done recording work for Shakira, Ritchie Blackmore and others and appear on their albums. I have performed many times at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall. I have performed on Broadway with Beauty and the Beast Off Broadway work includes Sweeney Todd at the Barrow Street Theater, 2018 Lortel Award Winner.

I teach the Suzuki, Traditional, or Mark O'Connor Methods and have been trained/certified in all. I work with all ages - Pre-K through adult.

I am passionate about teaching music, both to children and adults. I have had music studios in both Boston (former resident) and New York City for over 20 years. I have watched my students grow from beginners to advanced players and taken many from kindergarten through graduation. It is an extremely rewarding journey to watch my students progress musically.

I began teaching professionally while in graduate school.

I have a Master's Degree in Violin Performance from The Boston Conservatory. In addition to being a professional performer, I have over 20 years of violin teaching experience in both school and private lesson settings.

About the lesson

I am experienced teaching all age levels and playing levels on the violin from complete beginner to advanced student. I have been trained in Suzuki, Traditional and Mark O'Connor Methods and can employ any or all of these into lessons.

I have worked with all ages of students from Pre-K through adulthood, and with all types of needs. I am very skilled at catering my teaching approach to fit the needs of each student.
