About Lisa

Play a string instrument without the squeaks. Trained and experienced teacher that loves teaching and working with children.

i went to school for it, then started taking students when my children were small. I started teaching in the public schools when my children got older.

I have a bachelor's in Music Education. I have been teaching privately for 16 years. I have taught in public education for the last 8 years.

About the lesson

I meet students where they are.

I have worked with 4 year olds, school age through high school and adults up to 65 years old.

Hire a teacher like me that will teach you how to developed a very strong posture and movement foundation. When you are looking at a teacher's resume, don't worry so much about the performances they have done, focus more on what students they have helped, what kind of performances their students have had, and what kind of technique (posture) their students have. Are their students happy and having fun?
I have found the best teachers are not always the best performers. People that perform all the time don't always make good teachers. Look for someone that will be an excellent coach.

A couple of years ago I had my 4th and 5th graders play a song called 'Remeber Me' from the movie Coco. I wrote it and arranged it, and we had a classroom teacher that played guitar accompany them. It was such a nice experience for everyone.

Details

I charge a monthly tuition based on lesson time, 30 min., 45 min., or hour lessons. A 1 hour lesson is when we are done. It might be right at an hour, or up to 15 minutes over.
