About Geoff
I have been playing violin/fiddle/viola in some form or other since I was 4 years old.
I played with the band Sugar Run for several years, and had one song I wrote get some radio airplay.
My approach is to find what the student wants, and work with the student toward that goal.
Teaching the basics is a wonderful thing. There is beauty in the smallest musical achievement.

My first steps are to find the skill level and previous musical experience of a new student, and then to ask the student, "what do you want to accomplish?" If the goal is to play a particular piece, we will work on building the skills necessary to play that piece. If it is just to gain a certain level of proficiency, it is still important to find music that engages that student.
