About Irsa
I have experience providing home tuition to school students and enjoy working with students who need a little extra guidance to become comfortable with Mathematics. I believe that many students do not actually dislike Mathematics; they become frustrated when they miss an important concept and then find it difficult to follow the topics that come after it.
My approach is patient and practical. I take the time to understand where a student is making mistakes and explain the reasoning behind the solution rather than simply giving the correct answer. My academic background in Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) has also developed my ability to work systematically, understand complex information, and explain it clearly.
I take tutoring seriously and aim to provide reliable, well-organized lessons while helping students become more confident and independent in solving mathematical problems.

I teach Mathematics by focusing on understanding the method behind each problem rather than simply memorizing formulas or steps. I first identify where the student is struggling, whether it is basic calculations, understanding a concept, applying a formula, or solving word problems. From there, I explain the topic step by step and gradually move from simple questions to more challenging ones.
I use worked examples, guided practice, mental calculation where appropriate, and regular questioning to make sure the student understands each step. I also encourage students to explain how they reached an answer, which helps identify mistakes and develop independent problem-solving skills.
I provide support with schoolwork, homework, assignments, revision, and test preparation. My lessons are suitable for primary and secondary school students, and I adjust the level and pace according to the student's existing knowledge and academic requirements.
