About Jamie
One size doesn't fit all. I have the ability to feel out someone's ability inhance it, and build around what they are able to grasp.
I think of it as the next step of my athletic career. I enjoy helping someone put in the hard work I used to put in.
I started teaching in swimming even though it was not my main sport with the YMCA. I was always a good swimmer and spent a lot of time around the pool. Basketball which is my main sport I have not done more than help a couple of kids work out.
Besides an introduction to coaching class I took a few years back. Most of my training is in the swimming field, where I was a trained instructor. That being said I have spent most of my life (22+ years ) on a basketball court and would like to how much traction I can get in the sport. I was able to help a d1 recruit in basketball when he was younger 🤩.

I would like to first feel at the skill level a student is at; before forming a plan with the student/ parent on what to work on, and what it's going to take to improve.
In swimming I have worked with 6 years old through 18 years old. And many different skill levels. From begging swim team- competing for junior Olympics - regular highschool swimmer - trying to swim in college. In basketball I have worked with a couple of kids. Currently I am working with a beginner, but I have helped a big East d1 player train. That being said I have known him his whole life so of course I've worked with him.
I would say, don't be afraid to change a teacher that isn't working for you. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should want to understand where they want to get within the sport. (Realistically). Ex...if you are in 8th grade, it is not time to think about going pro. But you should be thinking of the next step in the ladder to going pro. If that is what you desire

Basketball and swimming have different prices. And depends on location. I will usually charge 10$ more than gas it cost. Not including if a gym membership is needed.
