About Carlos
Swam competitively for 8 years, Team Captain and led my team to win districts. Have been coaching USA swimming teams for 6 years and have been an instructor for 8 years.
I have taught a vast variety of levels of swimming from simply learning how to float or swim to being able to compete.
I have had years of experience with all age groups higher than 3 years of age to people in their 70s.
To me, this has always been something that I am passionate about. I feel that teaching is one of the most fullfilling jobs that you can have, especially one that focuses on training or survival skills.
Throguhout the years, this job has taught me how to be patient, and that every person has a different way of learning. Making the swimming experience tailored to who you are is my specialty
I started as a lifeguard at my High School natatorium. My coach at the time asked me if I wanted to teach lessons over the summer. Since then, I fell in love with it and have continued to practice teaching.
I swam competitively all my life and have been the Head Coach of two different teams. Besides that, I have 8 years of swim lesson experience.

Day 1 is about accessing the skills that the student has.
After that, I create a lesson plan that will hit all of the main areas of work first while still implementing minor areas that will help long term.
Any where from 3 year olds needing to learn how to float to 65 year olds wanting to do an Iron Man
Make sure you find someone who is passionate about it as well as wanting to see you improve more than what you own goals are. Some people can see more in you than you can see yourself.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Are they committed to wanting to learn, and are you willing to be patient. People learn at different tempos, so expecting to see goals within a certain time frame is reasonable, but not always guaranteed.

Details
I typically charge $25-$30 for a half hour swim lesson. If it is an hour, it will range from $50-$60 an hour depending on the kind of skills that the student is needing to learn. Any other charges included would be for payment to have access to a pool or long distance sessions.
