About Gloria

I specialize in English As A Second Langauge and Spanish As A Second Langauge classes. I am certified in two states to teach all levels from Pre-k to Grade 12.

I have taught elementary, middle and high school in three continents. I have also tutored university students in Spain, Peru and the USA.

I have 35 years of extensive experience with SIOP and specially designing courses , hybrid, virtual and brick and mortar.

I enjoy learning to teach and teaching different students and people. Each new person or class I I work with gives me opportunities to grow as a professional and learn more about currculum building, instructional methods, course design and langauges.

I love making learnimg fun because I love learning!

About the lesson

First I interview the student to define their needs, past experiences, study goals, personal goals , academic goals and professional goals. I also inquire about school assignments, past evaluations and feedback regarding progress. Rarely I do formal tests or assessments but I do ask students to tell me about the ones they need to prepare for as wel as to share prior ones with me. Then I plan a course syllabus based on required assignments and materials of the student's school or university assignments and syllabuses. I regularly ask students for their cooments about teacher evaluations and feedback as well as how well they are tracking progress with me and in possible other classes.

I make many of my own materials, tutorials and reviews to ensure student progress. I scaffold learning with the goal always to be independent learning with guidance if needed.
