About Juan

Highly energetic Foreign Language Teacher with over 14 years of experience devising creative lesson plans and integrating modern instructional techniques to teach high school and college students. Dedicated to a student-focused learning environment helping all students learn and advance in high performance their foreign language skills, by applying English and Spanish teaching and learning methods and techniques improving their foreign language communicative competence. I am also committed to promote values and principles that make easier interaction and communication in organizations and academic institutions in order to be a current society support.

The thing I like most about teaching is my students. I love interacting with them, I love learning from them, I love helping them understand the content of any course and I love when they see the connection between what they are learning and their lives. I love it when a student tells me they hated to speak in public before having the course in public speaking but now they actually like it (or hate it far less). I love it when they let me know how they used supportive communication to decrease someone else’s defensiveness or how they now understand how their behavior influences the behavior of others when they are working in a small group.

I have a B.A. in Spanish, English and French Teaching, a TESOL Certificate, a Spanish Teaching as a Foreign Language Certification, and a Cambridge Teaching Online Coirse Certification

About the lesson

It is important to listen which students needs are. Based on those, we can agree on a placement test to check on their language skills and this is the starting point to design and plan a set of classes
