About Medea

I am a capable and versatile Spanish native Tutor with over 10 years of experience in Spain, France and United Kingdom supporting families and public and private organisations in delivering high-quality Spanish learning.

As a lover of Spanish language and Hispanic culture that still continues enhancing her knowledge on a daily basis, I have an in-depth understanding of the challenges, dynamics and breadth of Spanish learning. What I enjoy the most about teaching Spanish is to enkindle my enthusiasm for Spanish language and Hispanic culture.

I started teaching English to my little cousin when I was very young, 18 or 19 years old. I realized back then teaching is one of the few activities where my mind finds peace, as I stay fully immersed in what I am teaching, focusing only in the person that I have in front of me. Language lessons are a wonderful mindset for me.

Then, at 25, I was a Spanish Teacher Assistant in two French high-schools in the middle of nowhere for nine months. That was my first professional teaching experience.

Degree in Hispanic Studies: Language and Literature, Universidad Complutense, Madrid (Spain)- 2008

Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Children, Instituto Cervantes, Valencia (Spain)- 2009

Graduate Certificate in Spanish as a Foreign Language Teaching to Adults, Instituto Cervantes, Valencia (Spain)- 2010

About the lesson

As a teacher, I have encountered a wide variety of children, young adults, aldults and family situations which have nurtured my openness, patience and communication ability, alongside with an instinct to approach every student I have met in an individualised way. My process varies depending on the student's needs and skills.

I have done face-to-face and online tutoring for children and young adults from primary levels to college, and for adults at beginner ,intermidate and advanced level.

I would advise him or her to have a previous chilled video interview with the teacher and see how it goes. What is your inkling? Follow it.

I am currently training a French born-London based 17 years old for her university entrance examination. She must work on a personal research project and prepare a presentation about it. She chose the influence of Arabic culture on Hispanic culture. Together, we have recently learnt that an 8% of Spanish words come from Arab. Even though I already knew Arab influence in Spanish language was big, I did not imagine it was THAT big. I love to keep curiosity and thirst for knowledge awake.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should be totally honest about their learning expectations and sincere degree of commitment, as individual work plays a major role in language acquisition.
