About Angela

I come with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine arts, Painting specifically. I have worked as a professional artist for the past 8 years. I am a native-born Spanish speaker who grew up in a Bilingual environment. I am also a professional Interpreter and Translator I have tutored kids in both Spanish and English. With me as your tutor I intend to teach you a practical approach to learning theses subjects because that's how I learned them.

I love sharing my love of languages and Fine arts with students who are struggling. I come from a creative background thus I try to come up with creative ways for my students to learn and apply what they learn in my sessions.

I graduated with a BFA in Painting in 2012. Subsequent to that I earned an Interpreting certificate from American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages ACTFL Advanced Mid Certificate in Spanish (interpreting) 2014. I have worked in both areas of study since 2012.

About the lesson

I get to know my students first, in an attempt to figure out what their strengths and the areas where they need help in.

To my students, I would say that the best teachers are always the ones that practices what they teach professionally. I am native Spanish speaker, who grew up in a bilingual environment thus I an fluent and basically native to both English and Spanish. As such I have ample knowledge of idioms and colloquialisms in both languages, which is rare in the teaching community. Also, I am still an active Interpreter and translator, which means I am constantly using my Spanish skills. As I am also an active artist because I get commissioned to make and sell my work thus I am constantly creating. You may find hundreds of teachers who teach a subject but very few who practice the subjects that they teach on consistent bases.
