About Jeidy

Teaching and I go way back to when I was 6 years old. See, I have a younger brother, and every day after Kindergarten, I would come home ready to teach him everything I had learned that day and show him how smart his big sister was (still is). I remember having the chalkboard, glasses, clips, and the rest of the teacher package! Officially, however, I started teaching at the Miami Breakthrough Program offered by my high school.

I have served as a volunteer at the Miami Breakthrough Program held at the University of Miami for the last three summers. I also do peer tutoring at the high school level.

About the lesson

My 1st session is always free of charge. In a nutshell, my main goal with this session is to figure out the areas where the student is struggling. For this reason, I like to start by spending some 1:1 time with the parent(s)/guardian(s) so that they can share with me their scope of the situation, and then with the student. With this session, the student and I can spend some time getting to know each other, discussing the material they are working on at school, and their goals for the future.

I have been a tutor at the K-10 level for three years. I have helped foreign students with perfecting their English, given English speakers their first Spanish lesson, assisted students that had been struggling in Math, etc.
