About Isabel
Hello! I am a recent graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where I studied Government and Spanish. I was able to take a variety of other courses as well, including linguisitcs, literature, statistics and sciences. I did some SAT tutoring when I was in high school, and continued to assist with homework throughout university. My most memorable tutoring experience was teaching English to Spanish children in Madrid in 2018 through games and structured activity. It then became clear to me the value and importance of teaching foreign languages around the world, and I would like to continue putting my education and mixed background to this purpose. I look forward to the opportunity to meet the needs of more people from afar!
I believe that tutoring is not only helpful to a student's academic experience, but can provide a mentor and someone who motivates on a personal level. I enjoy getting to know a student's learning style and figuring out how to make it advantageous for any subject. Learning should not only be about books, but about connecting with people, because that is what any kind of education allows you to do.

I will play some icebreaker games to gauge the student's skill level, as well as gain comfort between the two of us. We will chat about the student's favorite games and other hobbies in order to get to know one another. I believe it helps to know the student more personally before getting to know their learning styles and motivations.
