About Coker

I am an elite ⚽️ soccer and basketball 🏀 coach with years of experience and patience and dedication to teaching youth soccer and basketball. The key component to soccer is a child or a youth's firstouch. Similar to Soccer ⚽️ basketball 🏀 is about handles, ball control, court vision, moving without the ball, and one's ability to make shots. Once an individual develops that first touch and ability to dribble and control the ball, everything else will flow and develop naturally.

I love seeing seeing the improvement training, and development have on a youth. Once they are able to see themselves improve, their confidence grows, allowing them to become better players.

I started teaching as a teenager in college and at the club level, growing up, and playing for my youth club team. We would help the younger teams, and players with their drills and skills. When I got to college, playing college soccer, I created a youth sports camp during the summer, and in the fall I would hold private sessions for any youth, and parent that wanted to see improvement in their child's abilities, and development. After college, I went on to coach at several youth clubs, after injuries ended my pursuit for a professional career.

I am licensed ⚽️ soccer and 🏀 coach with years of playing, and coaching experience. I am also a PhD candidate in psychology. I am currently a juvenile probation officer as well. I hold a MS and BA Psychology with a minor in criminal justice. I am also Juvenile Probation Officer.

About the lesson

Evaluating a student skills and abilities from the onset of introduction to a training session is key to development and improvement.

I have worked with youth of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.

I would simply tell that student, connect with someone who is passionate and patient about being an educator, and coach of soccer. You want to be coached by someone that is patient enough with you to break down the drills, and skills, and walk you through them as you progress to a speedy level.

A recent event I am fond of is a parent reaching out to me and telling how much of an improvement they have seen in the child skill development and first touch, which is the most important touch in soccer. The parent stated they can see the difference in their child's game performance.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about the commitment, and dedication it takes to improve one's skills, and development.
