About Nick

Rise Pacific United prides itself on the highest quality private training while creating an environment that encourages learning and creativity. We believe all of our activities should develop foundational skills whilst also empoyering the player to see training as the stage for experimentation such that, when match day rolls around, the confidence to perform is instinctive. Nick Lehning, founder and lead trainer, is the current head coach of the Boise State University Men's Club Soccer team and is licensed by the English FA, FA Wales, the United States Soccer Federation, Professional Football Scouts Association, and the United Soccer Coaches. Licensure includes USSF and FAW coaching licenses, USC goalkeeping license, and English FA/PFSA Talent Identification and Opposition Analysis licenses. Nick combines experience coaching youth ages groups from U8 to U18 with experience at a variety of levels of the NCAA game to help players reach their next level!

I had some great coaches in my life throughout my playing career (which ended at the semi pro level) and always have loved instiling a love of the game into the next generation. When I was young I needed a part time job so I got started coaching while I was still playing, continued to do so througout college, and just fell in love with it!

About the lesson

Working with new players generally requires a session to get to know their skill level and how they work. I like to use one session to just learn what methods the player learns from the best, how they self talk during a training session, and how they respond to correction/praise. It is important to me to be able to adjust my coaching style to the needs of the player and not simply make them adjust to how I coach!

I have worked with "players" aged 3-5 who barely know what a soccer ball is all the way up through elite NCAA Division 1 athletes. I have worked with all positions, experience levels, and goals as well.
