I have known Michael Davids for many years. I performed with him and other youth when in high school. Michael will challenge his students! I was a tap dancer, and one time when our performance venue was carpeted, he rounded up a piece of 4x8 plywood and had me dance on it! It taught me the importance of flexibility and improvisation on the fly since I had to find the way to make my dance smaller in space but not in performance dynamics and energy. A pretty scary situation to overcome at the last minute as a teenager, but he was encouraging and wouldn't let me quit. I'm sure that his students today will get the same tutelage from Michael as he gave me all those years ago.
