About Maucha
I am a singer from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. I have worked with the legendary Maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim for the last ten years of his life from 1984 to 1994. I like teaching singers interested in Brazilian music. And I focus on phrasing, Portuguese Language for the ones who want to sing in Portuguese. Interpretation, saying the words, enjoying the rhythm and adding some Brazilian percussion to the lesson as well, to give students more independence and notion of the different rhythms.
I have a vast experience singing in New York for over thirty years and all over the world, working as a lider and as a special guest with many incredible musicians, like Slide Hampton, Gil Goldstein, Duduka Da Fonseca, Randy Brecker, John Pizzarelli, Claudio Roditi, to name a few. I have participated in many CDs and have three CDs as a lider, "Songs I Learned From Jobim", "Jobim Songbook" and "Milagre" (Duo CD with pianist Helio Alves).
I have participated in several Jazz Camps in the US, Germany, Sweden,Turkey, Croacia. I love to exchange my experience with different people. It is a learning process for me as well.
