About Eve

I hold a Master's in Jazz Vocal Performance from the Arron Copland School of Music at Queens College. I have been performing in venues in the U.S. and internationally for 20 years in jazz, folk, and cabaret settings. In addition to my MM, I have a BA in History and 13 years of professional experience as a sound engineer working in live and recorded media, and have recieved 2 Grammy nominations for my audio work.

I am also a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, and have worked in clinical settings for the past eight years, and I have 11 years of experience teaching yoga, both in studio and school

settings. My clinical and yoga teaching experience have taught me to be adaptable, and to tailor my lessons to individual needs and goals.

I started teaching at the request of a friend, who wanted to front a band. My voice teacher encouraged me to further pursue teaching.

I have a Masters in Jazz Vocal Performance, 11 years of yoga teaching experience, and 8 years experience as a physical therapy clinician.

About the lesson

I use an the first lesson to learn get to know the student: personal goals, vocal style, technical issues, and repertoire. From that first lesson, I design an approach to address the student's individual needs, using both vocal exercises and repertoire to address technical issues. If a student has a particular song he or she wants to learn, the lesson will be tailored to learning the song within the student's current ability.

I have taught students from ages 5 to 75.

Personality is as important as resume. Make sure that you and your teacher are temperamentally suited to each other, and that your teacher is listening to your concerns.

I recently took some friends from France to the 11th Street Bar for their Monday evening session. Not only did I enjoy listening to my friends play, but I also enjoyed educating my friends from abroad about the jazz community in NYC.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Am I singing for pleasure? Do I have an upcoming performance? Do I have professional aspirations? Do I have health concerns that may affect my ability?
