About Natalie
I have been teaching for three years, and want to spend summers and afternoons helping children by tutoring. I believe that students learn better when they are learning with a hands-on and interactive approach. Therefore, I teach through songs, games, and peer collaboration. I graduated college in 2015 with my bachelor in Early Childhood Education. I taught preschool for one year, and have been teaching third and fourth grade. I also teach fifth grade reading and vocabulary. During high school and college, I nannied, and helped tutor those students, especially during the summer months.
I truly enjoy working with children. One of my favorite parts of being a teacher is when a student finally understands a concept they have been struggling with. Another part of teaching I enjoy is learning through songs and music. I use songs throughout the whole day, to make the day go quicker and learning more fun. We have songs for our multiplication facts, parts of speech, and even history memorization.

First, I will find out what the student is interested in, what the student knows, and what the student is struggling in. This would be done through an assessment, and also just by talking with the student. Once I know what the student needs to work on, I will create lesson plans that will be interactive and based on the students interests.
