About

· Honestly I want every student to succeed. I know that the parents are the primary teachers, thus I wish to also help the parents know what they can do to teach their child. This is best for long-term learning.

I love to learn, and helping others learn is one of my deepest passions. It brightens my day to see my students’ faces light up when they learn something new. Helping them apply their knowledge to daily life is also a deep love of mine.

When I was in university I taught at the preschool through my psychology program, to understand kids better. After graduating I worked as a tutor with 8th graders in reading and math. Then I worked at a reading center for all ages.

Over 8 years in education, teaching preschoolers as little as 3 years old to high schoolers as big as 16 years old

o   2013: Preschool assistant teacher in Ann Arbor (Towsley Children’s Center)

o   2014-2015: 8th grade Math and English tutor with Americorps for 1700 hours (Detroit Public Schools)

o   2016-2018: Youth minister for middle school and high school (Church of the Transfiguration)

o   2017-2019: Reading tutor, helping students aged 6-16 learn to read from scratch, especially those with dyslexia or autism (Lindamood-Bell Learning Procesess)

o   2017-2020: Currently homeschooling my two daughters with a classical curriculum. My 3 ½ year old already can read basic 3-4 letter words!

·         MA in Theology (Sacred Heart Major Seminary) with a concentration in Secondary Education (Madonna University)

·         BA in Philosophy and Psychology (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor)

$30/hour. The reading company I used to work for charges about $106-149/hour, and they trained me for 80 hours how to implement their programs. I cannot go lower than $30/hour because I watch my two daughters full time (3.5 and 2 years old)
