About Ashlee
I currently teach AP Psychology and have seen great success in my classroom. My students enjoy my down-to-earth style and feel at ease with the way I deliver the content. I am dedicated to making AP Psych a managable course by creating positive study skills and memorization tactics.
I enjoy working with high school students who are at a period in their lives where they are forming their identities and planning and preparing for their future. Being a mentor to these students is something that I take great pride in.
I have always known that I wanted to teach high school, due to the positive impact that my teachers had on my life. I declared my major right away to teach secondary social studies and began my career upon my college graduation.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Science Education from the University of Central Florida and I have been teaching AP Psychology for four years now. I have been teaching for 11 years altogether.

First I want to find out what their background knowledge is on the subject. Then, I want to to make sure they are comfortable with me and my style of teaching. I would make sure they have the organization and study skills that are necessary to be successful in this course. From there, we can work on building a foundation of vocabulary and content.
I have worked with a wide variety of students including students from varying age groups, backgrounds, and socioeconomic status.
Make sure you are comfortable with your teacher and that you feel like you can be open and honest with them about your strengths and weaknesses.
I have students do a "Monday Check-In" every Monday in my classroom. At a recent PD, I had a student use this as an example of how teachers make an impact on students.
