About Maggie
I first started piano lessons when I was five years old, and through the years developed a passion for learning and teaching music. I believe that music is a wonderful gift from God and a powerful influence in our lives. It is my hope to share that gift and bring joy, peace, and excellent to those around me.
I started teaching my first student about 7 years ago, and fell in love with sharing my passion and seeing people grow in their skills and musicality. I teach from beginning levels to early advanced and am open to teaching people of all ages.
I have a bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from Thomas Edison State University, and studied with Ken Newton (MM Juilliard) and Grace Fowler (DMA UGA) during and after college. I not only have extensive experience performing solo, but have also accompanied for numerous church and local choirs, including Gwinnett Young Singers.

My mission is to shape my students into well-rounded musicians. This means teaching them solid technique, sight reading skills, performing skills, and the fundamentals of theory. Most of all, I want my students to enjoy the blessing of music and to use it for the glory of God. I treat each lesson as a collaborative effort between me and the student. I am open to suggestions that my students may have and encourage them to ask me questions and share any of their frustrations or discoveries.
