About Cathy
I have taught private lessons for 40 years. I have a bachelor's of vocal music performance with a minor in clarinet (woodwinds), and a piano endorsement from Cameron University In Lawton Ok. I teach kids starting about age 5 to adults (all ages) with gentle instruction and I also teach people with disabilities. I teach in my home in Wichita or travel to your home. I have taught at a few public schools and private schools and I have been the music director of several musicals including NEM's musical Once On This Island in 2017 and MTYP's musical Willie Wonka in 2013.

After greetings, we go thru my studio policy together, discussing tuition, make up lessons, practice schedule and recitals. Then we discuss music books and other music that we will need. If piano or instrument lessons, I might get some books for them ahead of time and the parents will reimburse me. For vocal lessons, we discuss what the student wants to achieve, pick out music. At the end of the first lesson, we get to know each other and tell a few things about ourselves. :)
