About Susan
I truly individualize the lessons I teach, and the materials I teach with, to and for the student I am teaching.
I love seeing the lights of learning come on and seeing my pupils accomplish goals that seemed daunting at the start. It is very rewarding work. I am aware that the lessons my students learn as they pursue their musical goals carry over into all of life and learning.
I began teaching piano when I was 16 yrs old to 5 and 6 year old students. Both my mother, who was a veteran piano teacher of 35 years, and my own teacher gave me their "overflow" pupils and I taught all through highschool including summers.

All ages, all abilities, all personalities and all types!
Make sure you are comfortable with their personality and feel at ease in their studio. If you or your child cannot relax, then you cannot learn. And likewise, if you can relax it opens you up to a world of creativity, risk taking and learning.
Being with all 4 of my grown, out of the nest, children for a week this summer on a crazy fun road trip through Washington and Idaho including pizza, rollercoasters and a concert at The Gorge Amphitheater. I will long remember the fun and sweet moments we shared.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Their goals. Why are you doing this and what do you ultimately hope to achieve. How will you make the time to practice in order to achieve this? This applies mostly to adult students or older school aged students.

$25/30 min lesson for piano, based on once a week lessons
$30/30 min lesson for harp, based on once a week lessons
If an adult student is coming for one or two lessons only a month, different rates apply.
I have small rental harps available on a monthly basis if a student does not yet have a harp of their own.
