About Dorifel
I finished a Bachelor of Music Education, majoring in Piano and minoring in Voice.
I have been offering music lessons since 2006. I am also an active member of SMAC- OC; as a Member of the Suzuki Music Association of California, Orange County branch (SMAC-OC), I accept the principles stated in Nurtured by Love and other writings of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki and other leaders in the Talent Education Movement. These principles include:
Loving encouragement of individual growth
Mutual respect among all students, parents, and teachers
Setting a good example.
Striving for the attainment of excellence
Honesty
Cooperation rather than competition
My music studio prepares my student for a yearly recital and helps them get ready for any school performances. As a member of MTAC, I also encourage them to participate in taking the Certificate of Merit examination.
My teaching philosophy is the belief that every child can develop talents, and my task as a teacher is to share my love and passion for music, providing the path by building the skills that will open the door to success and hope for lifelong joy of music-making and create the environment in which my student will motivate themselves.
As a Suzuki Piano Teacher, the Method book I am using is the Suzuki Book International Edition, and the supplementary book I am in the Piano Adventures Curriculum by Faber and Faber and also Piano Safari Books. This method book is based on discovery, creativity, and adventures through music-making. Four books are at each level—lesson, Performance, Theory, and Technique.
An additional supplementary book is also essential for student progress that motivates practice. The PreTime to BigTime Piano Supplementary Library correlates with Piano Adventures to provide a broad selection of music to meet each student's interest- at the precise difficulty level. The styles include Popular, Rock n' Roll, Classics, Jazz & Blues, Ragtime & Marches, Children's Songs, Favorites, Hymns, and More Popular. Piano Safari Pattern Pieces and Repertoire Books.
The student will be oriented to Piano through black Key pieces that explore the keyboard range for young beginners. This is followed by the off-staff note reading, which teaches the student the keyboard letter names and primary rhythms.
Technique & Artistry: Develops hand Structure, relation, and coordination in a systematic pathway to superb playing.
I am also a big believer in teacher-student duets. For many years of teaching younger students, I learned that playing with the beginning student is one of the best ways to improve their playing; they tend to model their playing from their teacher, so the benefits alone are worth it. It does make the simple piece sound grown-up.
I also introduced solfege to the student to help them internalize each note's sound and develop sight-singing.
At a young age, I thought Teacher could only teach in the classroom, but this belief began to change when I was 3rd year in college. I apply in a Yamaha School of Music as a piano teacher, I passed the audition/Performance test to be a Piano Instructor, I handle a group of 6-8 student in each class since then I also started accepting home private lesson outside the school area and eventually I started joining with another freelance music teacher for a yearly recital.
In the Yamaha School of Music, we prepare our students for a Trice a year Recital and some Mall performance in promoting the school music program.
After I graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education major in Piano and minor in Voice, I took & passed the Teacher licensure examination.
I finished a Bachelor of Music Education major in Piano and minor in voice. I do also serve as a Music Adviser and been serving as a Music Director, Choir accompanist, and conductor in the Church. I have also been singing with a choir group who actively joined the International choir competition. I also have experience teaching an exceptional student.

First of all, before the actual lesson, student should have an instrument (Digital Piano or Upright/grand piano). I cannot accept the student without having their Instrument at home.

All kinds of student from beginners to advance students, but most of them are young beginners. I love working with children who want to learn how to play music.
My goal for them is to
1. Develop or gain positive traits such as increased confidence, discipline, and patience.
2. Enjoy learning and develop Musical proficiency, expression, and creativity skills.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do I need to have instrument first before I contacted a piano teacher: My answer is YES! because if you don’t have instrument at home and you ask my availability or you want a call from me. Lesson.com will charge me only to asnwer your question. I don’t accept instruments at my studio who doesn’t have instrument at home ready. I only entertain inquiries that is ready to do lesson.

Great
Teacher Dorifel was not only patient but also very thorough in terms of technique and what the piece should sound like. She cares a lot for her students, and I remember she'd constantly push me to continue despite the difficulty.
I love her, She is very kind and very professional
Teacher Dory is very patient and good with children.
I liked how Teacher Dori was focused on really making sure her students master their pieces, have the right posture and hand positions. She'll really dedicate every minute and tell her students how to do the right thing while on the keyboard.
Teacher Dori is a great teacher! Learned all the fundamentals with her :)
Teacher Dory taught my brother and I how to play the piano when we were little. She is very talented at it, and she motivated us to do our best in all of our recitals!
Teacher Dori was my first ever piano teacher, I didnt really remember much because I was still a child. But what I remember is, she teaching me the basics of piano and we used to have so much fun together!
I like her patience and her passion on teaching new songs! She guides us through everything!
Teacher Dori was our very first Piano teacher, she taught us literally everything! She taught us piano lessons for more than 5 years. She is very very patient and hardworking. She is excellent as she puts her heart into teaching every student no matter what the age is. My siblings and I are very thankful to her because if it weren't for her, we wouldn't learn sheet music and read notes easily. Now, we play for our guests and they all enjoy it, all thanks to teacher Dory. We all have learned the discipline and respect one has to have in learning and playing piano because of her. She is greatly respected and your money wont go into waste!
She was very patient and encouraging with her students,
