About Nafisa

I started to teach at age 23 and have been teaching since then for 25 years.

I have two degrees in piano teaching. Both degrees from Russia. 25 years of teaching experience.
I am a member of National Piano Guild and also preparing students for recital.

About the lesson

Students start playing both hands from the first lesson.
On a first lesson I introduce students to notes values, fingers and hands position, posture .
ftom there on I introduce to note reading, every lesson students learning something new from music theory. I spend first 30 minutes focusing on piano plying and 15 minutes on music theory.

I have been working with all ages of students from age 6-65. Different styles and levels. Majority in classical music but with years of teaching I became all style teacher including classical jazz, pop, music from movies and popular shows

Try a lesson with a teacher and see this teacher has a real passion for teaching. Make sure you have a bond with that teacher and feel comfortable. Having a good bond makes a big difference

Summer recital of 2021

Chrismas Celebration. I was pianist at that event and played different types of music for 4 hours to entertain people

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How many years it takes to learn a piano

how difficult is to learn to play piano and read the notes

But in general it's very individual with each student. I usually talk to students on my first lesson asking many questions and their desire and goals for music
