About Luke

Luke Truan, an award-winning composer from Atlanta, is known for cinematic driven scores, arrangements and music. Luke’s music, with its diverse inspiration, enfolds one’s senses with mystery, suspense, hope and joy. He has composed film scores and original soundtracks for Swipe Club, Bloodline, Chi Nu Legacy, Timeline, Portal Origins, Portal Origins, part 2 and other award winning films. As multi-instrumentalist, he is always experimenting with new orchestral techniques, hybrid instrument and sound and instrument combinations. Which stretches the creative mind and in the process creates epic, full and unique compositions.

There are so many aspects of music that I love. Composing music for film is one of my most enjoyable areas of music. Another would be teach others about music. For example, Beethoven's moonlight Sonata was not release until after his death. Also, Beethoven originally gave his 14th sonata the title of Sonata quasi una fantasia. It was a german music critic that stated the sonata reminded him of the reflected moonlight off Lake Lucerne.

I've always love sharing information and teaching to others. Even when I was in the IT industry performing vulnerability testing I was teaching people (at all levels) how to protect their systems and networks.

Education has been a life-long journey for me. Initially, I began my piano career with the intent on being a concert pianist. I spent summers at Brevard and Jacksonville university before I ever graduate high-school. Even today, I still take piano lessons as an effort to improve. ;)

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I like to learn what the student's interests are and what brought them to want to learn the piano. Also, I like to start with the absolute basics to build a long lasting foundation. I'll also introduce a little simple classical music to learn along the way. This is part of building a long lasting foundation which will help with playing and ear training.

Currently, I also coach/teach voice over techniques and technical topics to my students. I look forward to teaching piano and helping my students learn what they are interested in playing as well as some new material that will help their overall playing and reading ability.

When looking for a teacher, I would make sure they can play the instrument they are teaching.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would also make sure their expertise matches up with the style of music you want to play. For example, if you want to learn popular music, you should ask your teacher if they teach that style. Likewise, if you are studying piano to become a concert pianist ask your teach if they can help you get to that level.

The pricing structure is very simple; $30/half hour and $60/hr for piano lessons. I also teach how to compose and produce orchestral music on the computer.
