About Mary Ann
I have been teaching private piano for over 30 years, and am very involved in several organizations that allow my students opportunities to enrich their piano education. Long time member of Music Teachers National Association, National Guild of Piano Teachers, National Fereration of Music Clubs
I love the relationships that develop with children and adults during piano lessons. Watching them grow in their ability to succeed at playing piano and making beautiful music is very rewardiing. I can rejoice with advanced students when they accomplish passage or difficult piece. Likewise, it's exciting to celebrate with beginners when they grasp a musical concept that may be challening to them.
I have a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Georgia and over 30 years of private piano instruction. I am a lifelong learner and continually pursue opportunities for professional growth.

The first step is a phone call to determine the needs of the student. Second, I offer a preview/"meet & great" lesson for $20 which can be applied to the first month's lesson fees. Lessons are available Monday- Thursday.
I teach students from 4 years old through oldera adults who have a wide variety of skill and ability levels from beginner through early advanced.
Ask about the teacher's educational background, years of experience, professional associations and style of teaching. While fees are of necessary importance, that alone should never be the guideline for choosing a teacher.
A favorite vent of the year is Federated Festival in which students prepare two pieces and play them for memory to be evaluated by a judge. For every 15 points accumulated, students can look forward to receiving a gold cup.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you have a piano or quality keyboard in your home for practice? Do you have time to commit to learning piano, including practice time? Parents, are you willing to invest your time and resources to support this venture? Learning piano is much more than just taking lessons. It is important to find a good match regarding teacher, and parents and students must realize that practice is key to progress.
