About Ashleigh
When I was a little girl it was a dream of mine to play the harp. That dream came true in Junior High. After three years of piano my parents signed me up for harp lessons. I am Salzedo method trained harpist. My harp training began in Boise, Idaho with a very talented harpist Mrs. Irene Bevington. Mrs. Irene Bevington was a student with Harpo Marx (famous harpist, part of the Marx Brothers) and taught by the famous harpist Mrs. Mildred Dillings.
I have been playing the harp for over 20 years. I enjoy playing for neighbors and friends, nursing homes, retirement homes, hospice patients hospitals, funerals, hotel luncheons, weddings, receptions, private dinner parties, etc. I have also participated in different orchestras and competitions.
I live in Bountiful, Utah. I am married to my prince charming and together we have two beautiful children. My family is very musically talented. My husband plays the piano and organ, my daughter plays the piano and the harp, and my son plays the piano and guitar. I love to play the harp and I am currently pursuing a career in Harp Therapy, Vibroacoustic Harp Therapy, playing for all special occasions, and teaching the harp.
I am currently accepting new students in the Bountiful, Utah area for ages 7 through 100 years. I teach at my home in Bountiful and have a pedal harp, level harp, therapy for lessons. I teach using the Salzedo method, with traditional note reading and music theory. I teach beginning and immediate players and offer 30- and 60-minute lessons. I encourage performances and offer opportunities to perform throughout the year.
I stress the importance of solid technique and a beautiful, rich tone. I teach my students how to read music and the basics of music theory but my most important goal is to teach my students to love music.
My daughter was interested in music, so I started teaching her the piano. A couple years later I started teaching her the harp. Through teaching my children I realized that I had a passion for teaching music.
I have played the harp and piano for over 20 yrs. I took lessons from an amazing harp teacher and piano teacher.

First lesson is free to see if we, the student and instructor, are a good match. We go over the teaching contract, practicing contract, harp care, and expectations.
Children
Make sure that they have a passion for the harp, music, and love of teaching. Technique, Technique, Technique!! I find that having a piano background helps the student progress faster, helping to decrease the frustration.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It's a commitment of time, money, and dedication. Students should think about their musical goals and if they are willing to put forth the amount of effort towards those goal. Music brings so much joy!
