About Kimberly
Hello! My name is Kim and I began my musical career with my school music teacher encouraging my singing, which I still love, and with piano lessons on a very, VERY old upright piano. After proving to my parents that I would stick with it, they bought me a new Wurlitzer piano that now resides in my daughter's home. Having taking lessons until my senior year of high school, I went on to share my love of music by giving beginner's piano lessons, including at a homeschool co-op in Indianapolis where my son attended preschool. While homeschooling my children, my husband and I shared the world with them through travel, camps, lessons and lots and lots of concerts! They both developed a love of learning and music; our son choosing to study the cello, our daughter, the violin and both of them experimenting with varied instruments and music styles. When there was no local strings orchestra available for them; through newspaper articles and networking, I started one called Sharptop Strings. I also helped at the Laurel Ridge Music Festival in Helen, GA while both of our children attended. I assisted with beginners piano, accompanying strings students and by being all around "camp mom".
If you have a young one who you would like to experience piano and music in a loving way, I would be thrilled to help them start, or continue their early journey! Whether they choose to play for a lifetime, or just a short while, learning music will help your child's creativity grow! It's even been shown to help with math skills! (How's that for a bonus!) By working with their personal strengths and by using methods that helped me as a beginner, I can help your child explore, and learn to love, the piano!
