About Tim
Come learn the fundamentals of jazz improvisation, harmony, theory, rhythm, and musicianship from a professional musician with over 25 years of performing and teaching experience.
These mentorship consultations are designed for serious musicians of all instruments who are looking for guidance, structure, artistic growth, and a deeper understanding of how to practice and apply jazz concepts in real musical situations. While piano is often used to demonstrate concepts, the principles taught are applicable to all musicians and styles of contemporary music.
Students will gain greater clarity, confidence, and direction in their musical journey while developing the skills needed to grow as improvisers, performers, and creative artists.
I started teaching at a summer music camp when I was a student in college. Years later, I started my own business teaching piano lessons out of my home.
I have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Music. I performed and toured with the Army Jazz Ambassadors, the official touring band of the Army, for 20 years
