About Drew

Whether you'd like to study songwriting, theory or audition prep, you can expect lessons entirely tailored to you.

Whether it's playing piano around the holidays, performing, writing an album, studying theory, or just studying the writers/players you admire - making sure you get the most out of our time is my priority.

Picking apart the songs we love to see what makes them tick is really at the center of the craft. Why does Carole King's F# in the melody over a C-7 chord in "I Feel the Earth Move" work? Why does the bassline in the piano feel like the earth moving under our feet? How did she do that? How can I do that in my writing?

I have a Bachelors in both songwriting and music business/marketing from Berklee College of Music, where I was a piano principle. Outside of songwriting, I've studied modern harmony, ear training, and classical theory at the collegiate level.

As a pianist, I've played for 14+ years in various roles: accompanist, choir director, music director and pianist for theater productions like "Into the Woods" and "Dreamgirls".

taught songwriting, music theory, and Berklee prep courses since 2020, but I've taught piano lessons since the early 2010s.

Perfect! Drew is a musical inspiration to me! I feel so lucky to have found her as an instructor. She both encourages me and challenges me to stretch out of my comfort zone and into my creativity. Her passion for song writing is contagious. Within just a short period of time working with Drew, I have found myself noticing things in music I before never discerned, and getting carried away with lyrics and tunes of my creation. She tailors our lessons to my needs, and always has a something prepared to share. I highly recommend her!

First piano teacher I’ve had that’s taught me both classical music and how to learn my favorite songs by ear. If I hadn’t moved away, I’d still be taking lessons
