About Christine
I am a classical pianist with experience in teaching piano and music theory of all ages. I began playing piano at the age of four and studied at the Eastman Community Music School for 13 years. I graduated from the community school diploma program as class representative, and received a Pre-Collegiate Diploma in Piano with Honors, studying with Patricia Hanson, as well as a Pre-Collegiate Diploma in Theory. I also received the Howard Hanson Certificate of Merit in 2016. I have a B.M. degree in Piano Performance at the Eastman School of Music studying with Alan Chow. Along with piano, I took four semesters of music theory and aural skills at Eastman.
I am currently pursuing an M.M. degree in Keyboard Collaborative Arts at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music with Dr. Alan Smith. I have taught students privately and was a teacher at Bach to Rock Penfield NY for two years (2018-2020). I have taught beginner group piano classes with students from ages 3-7 as well as private piano lessons for all age ranges and levels.
I have played in master classes for John Perry, Nelita True, Douglas Humpherys, Enrico Elisi, Barry Snyder, Alexandre Moutouzkine, Nancy Weems, Max Levinson, and many others. I also studied with renowned pianists, Peter Takacs and Ann Schein. In the summer, I have attended festivals such as the Montecito International Music Festival, where I was a Junior Fellowship Scholarship recipient for three years, MusicFest Perugia, Miami Music Festival, and the New Orleans Piano Institute.
I enjoy helping students learn and understand new concepts. While I am teaching students, I also learn new things from them in return. I love being able to share the knowledge that I have acquired over the years and pass them down to the new generation of inspiring students.
I am easy to reach and will respond and communicate with students efficiently and promptly. I am also available for extra help outside of lessons. Feel free to contact me for any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
