About Darion
As a graduate of Berklee College of Music, my lessons are unique in that they involve both classical and contemporary approaches. For example, in music theory lessons a student will learn both classical and jazz theory, and be able to analyze music in the contexts of both. My focus is not only teaching the material, but how it applies to real music.
My first teaching gig was teaching viola to a middle school orchestra student in Springfield, VA. Since then I've taught a few piano students and tutored music theory at Berklee.
I have played piano for 11 years now, and I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2018.

I like to see what a new student is interested in, so I can try to teach the material in a way that will keep them engaged. For example, in piano lessons, I'd get to know what kind of music they like so we can explore piano techniques in songs they enjoy listening to.
I've worked with a middle school student, an adult student, but most were music theory students in college.
