About Ian
I hold a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. I have extensive knowledge of STEM and experience utilizing that knowledge in a research setting. I was a teaching assistant for four college-level courses as an undergraduate student and as a graduate student. I consistently received very positive feedback from my students on my teacher evaluation questionnaires. I was also a private tutor for AP Chemistry and Biology for two years. The thing that I love most about teaching is watching my students have that "Aha!" moment.
I enjoy watching my students learn, grow, and achieve! It gives me the warm fuzzies.
I started as an undergraduate teaching assistant for General Chemistry. I really enjoyed the course, did very well in it, and thought it might be fun to pass on that knowledge to the next class.
I hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. As a part of my training, I was a teaching assistant for college-level courses in General Chemistry and in Chemical Reactor Design.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think it is important to first try practice problems, then come to the teacher with questions. It is more effective than having the teacher walk the student through the problem.
