About Heather

Painting (mostly acrylics now that acrylics are as vibrant as oils)

Fundamentals of drawing gives students a strong foundation in any type of artwork they are interested in pursuing.

I believe that my artwork stands out because I see artwork, particularly using colors, as an exploration of an image, setting, or moment that really reaches out and touches me in some way. This is an emotional response that will hopefully show others the love I feel for the subject matter.

I have been painting and drawing since 1989 (under graduate degree). My style has gotten much more expressive as I have grown as an artist.

I have an MBA, BFA , and have taught on and off during that time. I much prefer working with adults, however I'm very willing to work with youth who have a real interest and show talent. To be honest I have won several art exhibition awards but I couldn't tell you what and when....winning is not a motivation for me. I have also been featured in a few magazines and participated in many group shows.

I have taught virtual classes since COVID began. However, I have never tried to use social media, LinkedIn, or a website. The biggest reason for this is I would rather take that time producing artwork than going the social media/website route.

In conclusion, I want each student to first and foremost have a good time in a safe environment and 2) learn to express their love of the subject matter in a way that makes them smile when they look at their work. Thirdly, to feel a sense for accomplishment when viewers can experience that sense of love with them.
