About Jason
Compose.Click.Connect’s deep roots started forming way back in the mid-2000’s, when creator/instructor Jason Cannon decided to take much of what he’d learned from a decade as a full-time award-winning pro photographer and magazine editor, and set up in-person beginner how-to photography classes on the side through his primary photography business, Cannonfire Photography. From the first class to many others since, he has seen the incredible value his students gain in a short express formats, as they learn the magic of getting off “auto” settings, and gain control through basic manual camera settings. Top it off with creative composition techniques and go-to tips to take home with them and apply through practice, and it’s a time of transformation. Jason specialized in learning formats specifically designed for busy people wanting simple, easy to digest material, in one class/lesson day, with lots of interaction and personal attention from the instructor.
I genuinely LOVE helping people learn and grow - especially in the area of creative photography techniques. The faster a beginner or aspiring photographer can move through the frustration of fumbling around with gear, settings, lighting and focus issues, etc, then they'll feel free and empowered to experience the joy and excitement of their creative expression. And that's what photography is all about!
I started teaching back in the mid-2000's, when my portrait client moms wanted to learn how to better use their cameras (pre-smartphone days), to take photos of their kids in action or candids at family functions and outings.
My outgoing, fun personality and passion for helping others learn and grow has been a hit (along with the curriculum) with every class since.
I have a journalism/photojournalism degree from the University of Florida.
I worked as an award-winning travel/lifestyle magazine editor for nearly a decade.
I've owned my own photography business for 23 years, with the past 13 years as my full-time career.

Students interested in classes or lessons can email us at (concealed information) or check our facebook page "events" section to see the latest.
Private lesson inquiries include a free phone consultation.
Anyone with a desire to learn how to take better pictures, with any camera, from cellphones to DSLR's.
Students should choose a teacher who resonates with their schedule just as much as what they want to learn. I specialize in express-learning formats, meaning that I offer a class where students learn everything they need to get started, or about a certain segment (such as lighting or action), in one half day, or if it's a private lesson, in as little as an hour.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How big are the classes (smaller class size means more personal attention)?
Is there a money-back guarantee?
How often are the classes offered?
How many days/weeks/months long is each class/course?
Would a private lesson be better for me, with my schedule and what I want to learn?
