About Harold

I have over 20 years experience as a professional, commercial photographer shooting studio, location, fashion, beauty, product, and advertising work as well as exhibiting my fine art prints in galleries and juried shows and exhibitions across the country.

I have enjoyed teaching photography, digital imaging and Photoshop (and Lightroom) at colleges and universities across Long Island for over 10 years..

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm about photography and I always enjoy the exchange of new ideas with my students.

I also enjoy the challenge of up keeping current with the new technologies available to photographers (mirrorless cameras), as well keeping up with all the marvelous opportunities photographers now have ( Facebook, Instagram) for sharing their work and receiving feedback.

After many years as a commercial photographer with a studio in Manhattan I decided to share my knowledge, techniques and expertise with others. I also began exhibiting my work in galleries and found that many people were also interested in doing that - they just didn't know ho to get started. I am glad to share my experiences and knowledge in those areas.

I also find that I am constantly learning from my students too!

B.A. in Art from Antioch College

B.F.A. in Commercial Photography from Brooks Institute of Photogrpahy

M.F.A. in Fine Art from (concealed information)

20+ years teaching Photography and Photoshop at the college level

About the lesson

1.) I like to make sure the student understands their camera and knows what all the buttons, dials and lights do. An understanding of the types of lenses available to you is essential also.

2.) A basic understanding of Adobe Lightroom and/or Adobe Photoshop will be very helpful.

3.) The Fundamentals of good Photography are explained and demonstrated.
