About Loy
I have been practicing photography for about a decade, and have had many opportunities to share what I know with others. I started my formal education in photography in 2011. I attended a two year commercial program from Northwest College. I later received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in photography from Utah State University in 2017. I have a thorough knowledge of the technical elements of many genras of photography such as portraiture, families, landscape, action, lifestyle, event/wedding, commercial relistate and product work, and editing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
The best part about photography and teaching is the connection you build with other people. Everytime I take on a new job I meet new and interesting people, and connecting with them is key to performing well. This is especially true for portraiture. Photographing people is like a dance, the more I am engaged the more they will be too. I have fostered many meaningful friendships through photoshoot.
I have always had friends ask me for coaching on their photos. But I really fell in love with teaching when I got to student teach a photo 1 class at Utah State University.
I have a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in photography from Utah State University. And two years of commercial photography training from Northwest College

I start by getting to know my student better, and determin what they want to learn and the best process for teaching them. Communication is key and I try to respond to all inquiries right away.
Men and women ages 18- 55
Talk to them and get a sense for how they relate to you. I would definitely check out there work to see if they are any good. But I think most important is their ability to be personable
