About Tye

Personal one-on-one lessons in Photography, Adobe Lightroom Classic, CC, and Photoshop. I have 14 years of experience in digital photography along with 3 years working as a workshop guide. My areas of photography cover landscape, nature, portraits, night, natural and studio lighting, and events like weddings.

Teaching allows me to share my knowledge and enjoyment of the art.

With a local camera club, mentoring and giving short lessons on various photo technics.

14 years of experience as a professional photographer and workshop instructor.

About the lesson

Start with the basics. Ensure they are familiar with the camera and settings. In photography, things can happen quickly and photographers need to have a strong base knowledge of their camera equipment to ensure they can make a proper exposure when the opportunity arises. Skill in any art comes from practice, and as a teacher, it's my job to help you develop good practice habits.

Next, I move on to planning and composition, how to fit the pieces together to tell the story. This is where most photographers struggle as they move from a skill-based process to a creative process.

Beginner and intermediate students shooting in the field and in post-processing with Lightroom and Photoshop

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Make a list of the things you know about the subject you want to learn more about. Then list the things you would like to learn more about. This should help to develop a plan and ask the right questions for the instructor.
