About Travis

Hello -

I’m Travis, a Multimedia artist and photographer

In photography, I am skilled in both analog and digital media, and stylistically I have competency in portraiture, nature, street, and commercial photography, among others.

I can show you in easy steps how to use any program.

I’m also a musician, can teach audio engineering or consult on a studio build. I also do film and editing work.

I be been working with audio for 25 years and photography for over 15. I have an MFA from the Ssn Francisco Art Institute, which is the oldest art school in the West, and also where Ansel Adams established the Photography Department.

Most importantly, I have the ability to help you discover not just HOW to make images, but WHY. With me, you’ll begin to explore just what it is that you want to be saying with your work.

I have been a teacher and a mentor to other artists and musicians for years, and I have always enjoyed watching and helping people work out the issues that arise in their practice; whether it’s “how do I achieve this effect” or “Why am I doing this?”

I have been making art of one sort or another for over 20 years, and I am a believer in the idea that helping others grow helps me grow.

I have a hybrid artist/commercial portfolio online at:

I was a professional musician for many years.

And, more to the point, I have been working with digital media since before the first version of Photoshop. I also am honored to have been awarded my Master’s of Fine Arts in photography from the venerable San Francisco Art Institute.

About the lesson

I find out what my student wants to accomplish, and together we can figure out how to achieve those goals. I believe that I can also provide a deeper understanding of the work than just the physical aspects and forms, and I am always interested in facilitating a student’s self discovery.
