About Yvonne

Hi guys! My name is Yvonne and I have been painting since I can remember. I sell paintings in my store as well as take custom orders. I do very well and want to share my gifts of creativity with others! I provide all materials! So just bring yourself and a sense of humor and an open mind! :) The classes will be at my store in Mystic.. I have a 9 lb chihuahua that loves to take part also. Just kidding. She will be here though. I have good tunes also! If you want to come by the store itself to meet me in person at Holistic in Mystic. Feel free to check my website also. Thank you!

Art is very therapeutic for me and always has been. I have been known in the past to create my emotions and feelings on a canvas. I kind of just go with the flow so to speak. I could paint for hoursss on end and it will seem such a short time has passed! I zone out I guess. I put on my music, and just do my thing! I was at one point going to be an art teacher, but my path went elsewhere. I am fortunate to have the space to be able to teach others what their soul is urging them to do! I am very silly but take what I do seriously and have FUN with it.. that is the most important..I LOVE what I do, so it isn't work..it's playing with paints and I would love others to enjoy what I do so much and if my students leave feeling like they learned something then mission accomplished! I am also a Reiki healer and an empath, so I totally get the emotions that we hold in, that need to be released somehow, and art is that somehow. I also have my own techniques that I learned from others and I want to share them.. sooo let's go!

Holisticinmystic.com is my website if you choose to go explore! Or come into the store located at the Old Mystic Village behind the movie theater! :) . I am in Eastern CT, so anyone not in this area, or willing to travel here, please don’t request. I have been getting a lot of people from MA lately. I am sorry.

I have been asked to numerous times by different people over the years.

It's been in my blood since I was born.. My grandfather and both my uncles were fabulous artists.

About the lesson

1. Make sure we vibe. Have a phone or messenger conversation to make sure we are on the same page. Not everyone vibes with everyone, and I need to make sure the energies flow to make it the best experience possible.

2. Find out their intention for their lesson. (ex)

*release inner emotions

*want to learn some different techniques

*just some free time for themselves

(anything: depends upon the individual)

3. Make sure they are ok with my 9 lb rescue chihuahua (she's super sweet)

4. go with the flow..art is fun and therapeutic!

All different and I enjoy everyone

Find someone that lets you be the creator! ;)

Perfect! I had so much fun in this painting lesson. Yvonne was very loose and cool. We had great tunes and conversation. Her dog was there and is adorable. I felt like I needed an outlet during these crazy times and took a painting lesson. Yvonne showed me some techniques and at the end of the night I had a great "masterpiece!" It was so much fun and easy and EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm going back again tomorrow for some more fun!

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Yvonne for over 30 years, and in that time, I’ve come to know her as one of the most thoughtful, dedicated, and trustworthy people I’ve ever met. Her role as an English teacher couldn’t be a more natural fit—she brings patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others learn and grow.
Yvonne has the ability to connect with students of all backgrounds. She creates an environment that feels safe, encouraging, and intellectually stimulating.
I trust her completely—not just as a friend, but as an educator who cares deeply about the people she teaches. Anyone lucky enough to learn from her is in excellent hands.

$50/hour and I provide everything. I use canvases and acrylic paints. I honestly think more than an hour would make the most sense, but I will leave that up to the guest! I also only have one day off a week and run a full time business, but I LOVE to share my gift and passion of art.

Canvases/paints/brushes cost money..and time is valuable also
