About Ross

Over the thirty years that I have taught painting I have developed a method that teaches students to paint in their own unique way. Once they gain confidence, they find a personal and life-enriching painting style. My fee is $40 oer session

Due to Covid-19 restrictions I now teach only on-line. I have found this to be both enjoyable and allows many students to study painting whose locations would otherwise prohibit them from studying art.

In Berkeley, CA I was awarded a number of public painting commissions by the City of Palo Alto, The Berkeley Jewish Community Center, and both Berkeley Bowl Marketplace and Berkeley Bowl West Marketplace.

I was born and raised in Buffalo, received a BA in Painting and Sculpture from SUNY at Elmwood, and have authored a number of books available through Amazon.com, including Painting a Pathway Home, and Buffalo Boy 1, 2 and 3. My father was a well known Buffalo artist, Ross J. Drago, and I deeply enjoy passing on to students the generosity that he gave to me.

You can view my website at (concealed information) I am happy to hear from you and answer any questions you might have.

I teach painting from an energy point of view. This allows students to bring life force into their work regardless of the tehcnique they choose to work in. This technique is the fastest way to find their truly unique way of painting.

My father, Ross J. Drago, was a well known Buffalo artist who taught me to paint in his studio starting at an early age. I then received a BA Degree from SUNY at Buffalo in Painting and Sculpture.

About the lesson

I teach new students to learn from the great masters to instill confidense, and then develop their own style of painting.
