About Susan E
I teach for the student who enjoys the more casual nature of one-on-one private lessons. This allows me to adjust to the skill level and interests of each and every student, no matter the age or previous experience. This has been my model since I began to teach in 2014.
Because I supply all materials, you can try as few as one lesson to see if these lessons are something you'd enjoy pursueing. If you do want to continue, I offer the New Student Special of pay for 4 lessons up front and receive the 5th free. You decide at the end of your first lesson whether or not to take advantage of this offer.
Because I am self-taught, I find myself fascinated by the learning process of others. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each student and to help them to find their own style, not just to mimic my own. I do this by teaching how to experiment using oil painting tools and supplies.

We begin painting the very first lesson. You send me 2 or 3 images and we look at them on my big screen. We discuss composition and cropping. We choose a canvas size and begin! I show you which colors to use and how to place them on the palette. I provide all materials.
"You come. We talk. You paint!"
I've worked with children as young as nine years and retired, older adults. If the desire is there, we can work together.
I cater to someone who wants the casual atmosphere and undivided attention a private lesson allows.

Perfect! Susan is a great teacher who is patient and friendly. I am a beginner and she taught me so many basic techniques in a limited amount of sessions. I would highly recommend Susan to beginner through advanced artists.

I have taken art lessons from Susan for a few years. I guess the best way to put my experience with Susan is that she gave me the "gift of sight!" She taught me different ways to get perspective on your work. My ability to mix color has expanded. She invited me to attend an art show with her and put a couple of my pieces for display. Details
In studio lessons are $40 for 60 to 75 minutes. They are private one-on-one lessons. You can buy one or five or more. You take them when our schedules work together.
