About Briana

I have expierence in various genres of music. I began singing gospel music, then transitioned into Vocal Jazz. I attended a performing arts highschool and studied Vocal Jazz there. Shortly after, I attended Morgan State University and got a B.A in classical music. I can also teach beginner piano.

I started teaching at Morgan State University's summer camp, then moved on to private lessons.

I have a bachelors degree in classical music and im currently in graduate school working on my master degree in classical music. I attend the Longy school of music in Cambridge, MA.

I also study dance, so i understand how the body works in realation to singing. Some places ive studied are The Dance theatre of Harlem and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

About the lesson

Most imporantly I would need to get to know my student on a personal level. Undertstanding what they do in their everyday lives in essential for teaching. I also like to see how much they already know about singing and how the body works, afterwards we can jump into singing. First, id start with simple breathing excercizes and move to simple warm ups depending on the voice.

I work with students of all ages and all backgrounds. I am looking for people who are passionate about music. No specific expierence is required.
