About Autumn-Rose
Hello, Autumn-Rose here!
I absolutely adore working with children and young adults, whether by nannying, tutoring or babysitting! I am positive, energetic, empathetic and encouraging. I have worked with children of all ages and backgrounds for the last six years. Before that I used to babysit from 6-month-old - age 12. During my schooling I was a part of a peer tutoring center. In college I began the program for peer tutoring for the entire French department!
I have a bachelors in communications and a minor in French. I have always loved mathematics, so I am very proficient at tutoring in that specific subject. With my communications degree, English, creative writing and reading are also strong subjects for me.
I believe all children have a purpose and our job as their elders is to nurture and grow that purpose into a passion. Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them! I also believe that it is our job to teach them how to think rather than teach them what to think!

Teaching has two very important elements: knowledge and compassion.
I have always been a connoisseur of leaning and knowledge. I believe that the world grows as our minds do. We cannot aim to grow whenever we are behind the boundaries of our minds. Sometimes we need others to help us break through these barriers and that's where the compassion comes in.
Everyone's mind works differently. Especially those like myself with ADHD and like others with ADD, etc. This requires us as teachers to understand that not everyone moves at the same pace and not everyone can learn in the same manner. I decided to go into teaching because I want to be the change in these students lives. To be the "lightbulb moment" in their educational endeavors.
I graduated with a Bachelors in Communications and a minor in French. I am. quote proficient in not only reading, writing and English, but also mathematics, French and speech.
I am currently on my way to receiving my teaching license.

I start by conducting a demo session. In this session we will discuss what the child/children's strengths and weaknesses are to see where we will need to focus our efforts the most. After this I would like to review the class syllabus/curriculum so that we know what topics will need to be discussed in the future to prepare and be sure that your student(s) does/do not fall behind.
From here, you will decide whether or not to move forward with my help.
Every subject and grade level provides its own challenges, so I go case by case and child by childin regards to our next step after this.
I started off as a coach, so I have worked with an array of studens. Ranging from ages 4-18 and from all different backgrounds.
The advise I would give is to find someone who you vibe with. If you cannot be open about your shortcomings, then the relationship of teacher/student will not be fruitful. Find someone who will try to explain the content in a way that YOU understand!
I am incredibly fond of the new mindset that our younger millennials and Gen Z have taken. The mindset that permanence should be a choice, not an expectation. The mindset that we don't have to fit the mold that society has burned into and broken us down to feel we have to achieve. It has enabled us as a whole to be less stressed and more intentional with our paths. This has allowed a vast amount of society to delve into their passions (rather than an expected career) and monopolize because they get to monetize from something they love! That should be the goal.

As a parent to multiple children, you don’t always have time to dedicate an hour to two hours every evening to each child’s needs (especially educational ones) so hiring Autumn-Rose was the perfect option for our household. Details
For the most part, I charge between $20-$25/ hour. This price is contingent upon the distance driven to and from the students location on my part. If the distance exceeds 10 minutes, I will charge a travel fee of $10/hour (ie: 30 minute drive equals a $5 driving fee).
