About

Hi! My name is Steven, and I am a fourth-year medical student who recently matched into my #1 Surgery residency program after receiving 18 interview invitations from high-ranking surgical programs across the country.

Academically, I scored in the 90+ percentile on the MCAT and scored 260+ on USMLE Step 2. I earned Honors-level performance across multiple NBME shelf exams, including Surgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, and EM.

I have over 7 years of tutoring experience. I have worked with students ranging from undergraduate pre-med students studying for the MCAT and preparing for admission interviews to medical students preparing for shelf exams and USMLE boards to become competitive for residency.

My experience includes MCAT preparation and study planning, medical school admissions, lead anatomy tutoring, didactic tutoring and peer mentorship for medical students, and one-on-one board and shelf preparation.

My teaching style focuses on helping students think through problems efficiently rather than relying purely on memorization for every concept. I place a strong emphasis on clinical reasoning, NBME-style question strategy, and identifying high-yield patterns that consistently appear on exams.

I tailor sessions to each student’s goals and learning style, whether that means building foundational understanding, improving test-taking strategy, preparing for rotations, or developing a structured study plan.

I offer tutoring and advising in MCAT preparation, medical school coursework (in-house exams), USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 preparation, NBME shelf exams, anatomy, medical school application advising, MMI prep, ERAS/residency application advising, and personal statement editing and interview preparation.

Whether you are preparing for a major exam, aiming for Honors on rotations, or navigating the medical school or residency application process, my goal is to help you approach the process with more structure, confidence, and efficiency.
