The first session is always free at Compass Educational Services. At the student's first session we will review grades and create a grade log. We will also discuss the student's individual goals. After that, we will begin working. After each session, the student will be sent home with a Tutoring Summary sheet to let parents know what we worked on.
We work with students from K-College. Our tutors generally help with homework, study skill building, and ACT/SAT Test prep.
Mrs. Denver, the owner, works with students with learning disabilities. She is a certified Wilson Reading System provider and works with dyslexic students.
Make sure you are comfortable with your tutor. You need to be able to work with your tutor because you are the leader in your instruction.

Mrs. Denver has been the most valuable asset in helping my children with their dyslexia. She is the most qualified dyslexic specialist I have ever met. Not only is she the best at what she does but she gets it being a parent of Dyslexic children herself.
She has been a constant relief for our struggles with reading and math. She is a very professional and reliable teacher plus my children really enjoy working with her.Our experience with Mrs. Laura over the years has been phenomenal. Our son was diagnosed with Dyslexia in 2nd grade and at that time he also started at a new school. The new school did an evaluation and wanted him to repeat first grade based on his reading skills. We informed them that he just started working with a reading tutor and felt that he would be able to catch up. He started working with Mrs. Laura and the Wilson model and is now reading at his current grade level (5th). Mrs. Laura advocates for him, builds his confidence and gives him all the tools he needs to succeed. We highly recommend!
