Personally, tutoring has been a very rewarding experience! In school, math classes can be boring, but I am here to make learning math more interesting! My favorite moment is always when I try to explain a concept using modern or funny examples to a student and he immediately gets it and appreciates mathematics even more.

I obtained a first class Masters degree in Mathematics at Imperial College London and I am currently a PhD candidate at Stony Brook University, NY. For the last three years, I have also been working as a teaching assistant in both universities, teaching a variety of undergraduate level math courses. I am glad to have been awarded a Prize for Excellence in Teaching by Imperial in 2019.

During the first lesson, I would firstly find out everything about the student as much as possible, from his/her expectations of the lessons to his general interests as well as performance in school or college. To make sure that the goals are met, I would propose a plan and start the lesson immediately.

A typical lesson with me starts with going through the basics of a topic, followed by a number of exercises to ensure that the student fully masters the topic. Of course, depending on the student's needs, I will vary the structure accordingly. I will try to make every explanation I give as relevant and interesting as possible!

For younger students, if parents are involved, I would give them regular feedback on the student's performance.

I have a wide experience teaching students in middle school, high school, college students, as well as adult learners.

Many of my previous students sought a general support throughout their studies and boosted their confidence, while a few others already had certain goals in mind, such as acing entrance exams (e.g. SSAT, SAT, ACT, AP, IB, A Levels, GRE Quant). I have also done a couple of interview practice for college admissions, the most recent one was for one of the top science colleges (grandes écoles) in France.
