About Jaydon
I am a recent mechanical engineering graduate with a passion for helping inspire the next generation of problem-solvers. I tutored middle school students for two years while going to Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California, and am currently an instructor at an after school program in Portland, Oregon, where I teach basic engineering concepts through playing and building part time, while also spending time offering private tutoring.
My goal is to develop fundamental understanding so that students will have a lasting intuition for tackling challenging problems. I create a safe space for mistakes to be made and learned from, so that a healthy reltionship can be made with failure, as it is a very important part of the learning process. I want to give your student the tools they need to do all their work on their own with confidence so they won't need my help later! I'm here for any kind of help that is needed, whether it be homework help, going through curriculum, using a computer, study and learning tips, or even questions about college.
I enjoy seeing when students realize that they are smarter than they think (all kids are smarter than they think). It brings me joy when a student is confident in their studies enough so that they are excited to approach new problem-solving situations and want to learn more about the concepts they're learning.
