About Jackson
My name is Jackson Haling, and I'm a sophmore college student at University of Pittsburgh. I'm currently majoring in mathematics and I have had plenty of experience in the field of math from high school classes and extracurricular activities.
I have tutored numerous students in various high school math classes before, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC I am willing to teach other subjects, but these are typically core classes taught in high school, and they are the classes I am most familiar with.
I've always loved the subject of math, and by extension I also love helping others to understand it. Math problems are often like small puzzles that you get to figure out. Tutoring can often be similar in this regard - see how a student thinks through problems and then figuring out a way to personalize the subject in a way that teachers can't in a classroom setting.
From my time in high school, I have taken the AP test for Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Statistics, and I received a 5 on each of these tests. I have also received a perfect score on the math portion of the SAT test, as well as a perfect score on the Math 1 and Math 2 SAT subject tests. I also was a regional qualifier several times for UIL Academics, which is a well-known academic competition throughout the state of Texas, in two different math related events - General Math and Calculator Applications.
